The Society For Biomaterials
is a professional society which promotes advances in all phases of materials research and development by encouragement of cooperative educational programs, clinical applications, and professional standards in the biomaterials field.

Focus: Liasion
Liasion Who's Who

Objective: Identify relationships and goals with other technical and professional organizations, standards-making organizations, and World Biomaterials Congress societies.

Goals Strategies for Implementation Implement Resources Necessary for Implementation
Define and establish relationships with other technical, professional, and standards-making organizations. Identify appropriate organizations and contact the organizations to determine and initiate collaborative possibilities which may include exchange of information, joint meetings, news articles, literature displays, advertisements, mailing lists, etc. Ongoing Committee members

Report to Spring Council
Establish collaborative relationships with International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUS-BSE). Collaborate with IUS-BSE in the international coordination of professional issues such as fellow status and activities by exchange of information, joint meetings, news articles, literature displays, advertisements, mailing lists, etc. SFB sends two delegates to IUS-BSE as appointed by SFB Predident for four year period. Report to Spring Council
Provide effective liaison with standards making organizations.  Liaise on matters effecting the development and establishment of standards relating to or associated with biomaterials. Member appointed by President shall interact with Devices and Materials Subcommittee to liaise with other standards-making organizations regarding the development and establishment of biomaterials standards.
