Welcome to the Surface Characterization and Modification (SC&M) SIG webpage!

SIG Mission Statement:

The SC&M SIG focuses on two areas of research:

  1. Improving understanding of biomaterial surface structure and its relationship to biological performance
  2. Developing surface modification strategies for biomaterials

SIG Objectives:

  • Provide access to fellow surface scientists
  • Create workshops, symposia and general sessions during the SFB annual meeting focused on the above two areas of research
  • Support student SIG members with the distribution of an annual Student Résumé CD
