The Endovascular stent graft is a composite unit. It is an assembly of stent components attached to a textile structure. The method of attachment varies from usring simple suture knots to interlacing. The image above shows different designs of a endovascular stent graft used to treat different conditions of 'abdominal aortic aneurysm'. The porosity of the structure can be controlled by varying the geometry of interlacing of the yarns/ filaments in the textile structure. The methods of interlacing can be either weaving, or braiding.
