Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsorship opportunities will be awarded based on several factors including:
- Order in which sponsorship forms are received,
- Total amount of the committed sponsorship, and
- Relationship the sponsoring company has had with the Society in past years.
Social Functions
- The SFB “Bash,” a highlight of the Annual Meeting, provides members and attendees with the chance to relax and enjoy some palate-pleasing cuisine while catching up with friends and colleagues.
- The opening reception will immediately follow the keynote address, and will provide attendees with a great networking opportunity.
- The student luncheon is an opportunity for young researchers to network with each other and to discuss the business of the SFB National Student Chapters.
- Coffee and refreshment breaks will be scheduled throughout the meeting, in the River Exhibition Hall of the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers. There are several opportunities to sponsor these welcome breaks in the program schedule.
Internet Cafe
Sponsorship of the Internet Café provides registrants with computer stations to send and receive e-mails without leaving the convention center. Registrants can also use this service to download selected abstracts while on-site. The sponsor’s company name and logo will appear on each screen and the company’s web site will be linked to the browser’s launch page.
Registration Materials
- Convention tote bags are durable bags that will be distributed to all meeting registrants on-site and will serve as a convenient carry-all during and long after the meeting. Bags will include the meeting logo and sponsor company name and logo. Sponsors will be responsible for production and shipping costs.
- There are also opportunities to sponsor a meeting pen, notepad, badge holder, and lanyards.

Technology and Training Forums
In 2007, the Society For Biomaterials will again offer sponsors the opportunity to host Technology and Training Forums. “T&T Forums” are intended to be technical-based educational opportunities for members/attendees of the SFB Annual Meeting. The forums may be hosted by corporations (e.g., sponsors and exhibitors) or federal government agencies, and they should focus on technology and training. Programs may consist of a “how-to” session, or expose participants to new guidance documents, standards or government initiatives. T&T Forums are not intended to be sales or marketing opportunities and SFB reserves the right to decline a T&T Forum proposal that includes a competitive comparison or resembles an “infomercial.” T&T Forum hosts receive:
- Theater style seating for up to 250 attendees in an SFB-assigned meeting room
- LCD projector and laptop
- Podium microphone
- Promotion of the forum in the Final Program book
- One complimentary use of the Society For Biomaterials membership list and pre-registrant mailing list to advertise the session being held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting
- Table in rear of room for handouts
Additional meeting room/speaker needs will be the responsibility of the T&T Forum host and all arrangements must be made directly with the convention center. All expenses for the speaker(s) and handout materials will be the responsibility of the T&T Forum host.
T&T Application Submission
Applications, including a description of the intended program, must be submitted to the SFB headquarters no later than December 11, 2006. You may download and print your own Corporate Sponsorship and Advertising Form or contact Dan Lemyre for a copy. Program organizers will be notified if their proposal has been accepted by the week of January 1, 2007.
